About Us

Would you like to know how to win board games and alienate meeple? You’ve come to the right place.

We are 3 Ladies, an assortment of generic gaming buddies, and a helluva lot of games. Here you’ll find humourous, sarcastic, or just plain drunk reviews of board games and board game-related stuff. In our reviews we aim to give you a tour of a range of games where we share our own stories, mishaps and board game feels. In addition to these we also have event reviews and gaming guides which give you the reader a whole buttload of gaming ideas and amusing times.

You can find our rating system, the ‘Brutus Scale’ on each post, which indicates how easy that game is to ruin other people’s strategy, or indeed your own. The higher the mark out of 10, the more misery you should expect.

We’d love to hear about your own board game experiences too, so feel free to share and comment on our reviews, or even give us some feedback. We hope you like us but if you don’t then that’s fine too.

Who we are

I’m Briony and I have trouble summing myself up in two sentences. I like games and wine and ice-cream.
I’m Briony. I like epic misery games where breathing or having a toilet break feels like treating yourself. This whole thing started because I got very depressed after playing Agricola for the first time.
I’m Bob and I’m almost certainly a fully-functioning human being and no one can prove otherwise. I get very excited about winning and wear a lot of black.

I'm Lizzy: philosopher, writer, destroyer of worlds. Everyone's mean to me because I look really smug when I win.

Is the “how to win games…” an allusion to Justin Pearson’s (of The Locust and countless other bands) book of a very similar name? Do I win the game?
